Three options to create a pie chart in Excel
Use a pie chart when you want to show a proportion of a whole. Especially when the total sum of your data equals 100% and if you don’t have a lot of data. Otherwise, the slices on the pie chart will look thin and unclear.
There are three options to insert a pie chart in Excel. Before you start to insert a chart, you need to have entered data in your Excel sheet. In this example, the data we use shows how many people like the color red.
1 – Quick Analysis
Select the data entered in your Excel sheet in cell range A1:C2. You can see that a little tool called Quick Analysis shows up next to it. If you can’t see anything happen, you can press Ctrl + Q, and Quick Analysis will open automatically.
In the tool Quick Analysis, you should choose Charts > Then click on Pie. The pie chart will be available to you.
2 – Pie chart figure
First, select the data you have entered > Click on Insert in the top bar > Go to Charts and select the pie chart figure > Then you choose one of these pie charts, as shown in the picture below. In this example, you know how to create a 2d pie chart in Excel.
If you click on More Pie Charts below, which is highlighted, then a new box opens called Insert Chart, which you can see in option 3.
3 – Recommended Charts
First, you select the data you have entered > Go to Insert > Click on Recommended Charts.
1: In the box Insert Chart, you can see all the Recommended Charts. Sometimes you can’t see the charts you like to use. Therefore you should click on All Charts.
2: Then choose Pie on the left side of the box.
3: Now, you can see the different pie charts at the top of the box. Click on any pie chart to see the preview below.
4: Select any pie chart you want to use.
5: Click OK.
