A bar chart is a graphical representation of data that allows the users to see the data results easier. The data you enter in your Excel sheet represents symbols such as bars in a bar chart. This article will show you how to insert a bar chart in Excel step by step. You will also learn how to create a 2d or 3d bar chart in Excel.

Three options to create a bar chart in Excel
A bar chart is to compare the values of categories horizontally. Use the bar chart when the category text is long. There are three different ways to insert a bar chart. In this example, the data shows why a student failed their math exam.
1 – Quick Analysis
First, you have to select the data you have entered in your Excel sheet. Select the cell range A1:B9.
Then a little tool called Quick Analysis shows up. You can also press Ctrl + Q on your keyboard to open Quick Analysis automatically.
In Quick Analysis, you should select Charts and click on Clustered Bar. You will immediately see the bar chart appear.
2 – Bar chart figure
Start by selecting the data you have entered in your Excel sheet > Go to Insert > Click on the bar chart figure in Charts. Then choose one of the bar charts, as shown below. Now you know how to create a 2d and 3d bar chart in Excel.
If you click on More Column Charts, highlighted in the below picture, a new box called Insert Chart opens up. You will read more about it in option 3.
3 – Recommended Charts
Select the data you have entered > Go to Insert. Then click on Recommended Charts, and the box Insert Chart shows up. Sometimes you get no suggestions in the recommended charts. So please follow the steps that are marked in the picture below.
1: Click on All Charts.
2: Click on Bar on the left side.
3: Select a bar chart to see the preview below.
4: Then click on the Clustered Bar.
5: Click, OK, and the bar chart will appear.
In the below picture, you can see an example of a bar chart. You should change the title and write your question instead. Please click on Chart Title once and replace it.
